Abstract

The current period is when children, especially those of school age, spend a lot of time in a sitting position, both at school during class time and at home in front of laptop, gadget, or television. If the sitting position is not ergonomic, it can cause children to experience back pain problems at a young age. Therefore, efforts need to be made to prevent this incident by providing knowledge about good and correct body posture when sitting and the impacts that result if the sitting position is wrong. This activity aims to increase students’ understanding of good and correct body posture when sitting. Extension activities are carried out using the lecture method and media in the form of posters and leaflets. Evaluation is carried out by checking posture and taking a short quiz both before and after the material delivery process. The results showed that of the 46 students, 25 experienced increased knowledge, while 21 were still sitting in the wrong position. The conclusion from this activity is that there is an increase in knowledge of good and correct body posture when sitting in grade 3 elementary school students.
